The Bureau of Justice Statistics report that three women everyday are murdered by an intimate partner. As the elected State’s Attorney for Caroline County who prosecutes all felony crimes against persons in this county, Mr. Joseph A. Riley sees the impact of these crimes. The Walk a Mile in Her Shoes campaign is dedicated to helping raise awareness about family violence against women. The one-mile walk is not a race, but an experience filled with fun, laughter and hobbling, as the race is done in high heels and participants come accessorized to make even Gisele Büdchen jealous.
The Caroline County State's Attorney's Office invites you to join in this important walk to tell victims that we see you, we hear you, and we want to help you. Money raised by all the brave, bold and beautiful participants will be used by the Mid-Shore Council on Family Violence to support victims' journeys to becoming self-sufficient, self-empowered survivors. So how can you participate in this fun-filled event:
Join Us For The Walk. Everyone is invited to participate in this fun event. This is free, but there is a suggested donation of $5 - $10. Don't forget to wear your heels and accessories.
Join Caroline County's State Attorney Joe Riley's Healing Heels Club. Pledge a walker from your office, business, community organization, or family for $100. Or you can help provide a pair a Healing Heels for $70. If you need shoes, please submit your pledge by April 1, 2019 so we have time to get them.
