The MSCFV 24-hour hotline (1-800-927-4673) is available to all domestic violence victims seeking crisis intervention, information, referral, emotional support, counseling, and guidance.  Trained staff counselors who live and work in Maryland's Mid-Shore counties, answer the hotline 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. For victims whose primary language is not English, MSCFV hotline counselors have access to Spanish-speaking counselors, and we use translation technology to assist with calls in over 40 languages.

MSCFV advocates answered 339 hotline calls from victims in calendar year 2017. During these calls, most clients received assistance with safety planning (67%), information about MSCFV resources (76%), and advice on their legal rights and options (54%). As the figure below illustrates, the vast majority of victims achieve positive outcomes in these calls, including a better understanding of the cycle of violence, a better understanding of their rights and options, and a readiness to take the next step in ending the violence.
