In 2016, there were 115 incidents of domestic related crimes reported in Caroline County, and many more unreported. These crimes, reported and not, impacted the victim, the abuser, their children, extended family, co-workers, friends and communities. Between July 1, 2016 and June 30, 2017, MSCFV served 103 clients and their 132 children in Caroline County. The vast majority of Caroline County family violence victims who come to MSCFV are women (94%). 73% are Caucasian, 18 % are African American, and 11% are Hispanic. Most victims are between 26 and 45 years old and have at least one child. More than half of victims (54 percent) have left their abusive partner at least once before. against women is something we can all agree is wrong.

As the elected State’s Attorney for our county who prosecutes all felony crimes against persons in Caroline County, Mr. Joseph A. Riley sees the impact of this violence on the individuals, their children and their communities.

Mr. Riley is committed to helping victims leave the violence and take their journey's of strength.

We need to raise awareness about these acts of violence and let the victims know, we see you, we hear you, and we want to help you.
